Training, Presentations & Speaking Engagements

We have developed and provided training a wide array of training topics including setting data priorities, policy on children; children’s mental health; veterans and their families; barriers to identification; facilitating cross-systems collaboration and strategic planning; accountably measures for mission and goals.

Additionally, we have micro-trainings with handouts and team discussion guides. From providers to court staff to schools to government staff, these short 2–4-minute training courses integrate military family culture knowledge and topical information such as justice involvement, violence, homelessness, suicide, etc.

Specialization of our trainings include cultural competency, collaborative practice, family centered treatment, integrated service delivery and wellness and recovery. In addition, our trainings consist of specific populations such as underserved/unserved groups that include children, transitional age youth,  veterans, veteran families, military families, domestic violence, parents/caregivers of children and diverse racial & ethnic communities.

Specialty areas of focus in these specific populations are peer support trainings on access and engagement to mental health care, K-12 school based mental health, methods to service to diverse populations, education for peer support service providers, training on peer support in housing & employment for individuals with or at risk for serious mental illness. Additionally, we have found that the father roles in veteran and military family programs and caregiving projects are sometimes excluded.
